I have been using and developing Drupal for 17 years now. Not only for client projects but also for my own website. Here is a list of the most important Drupal modules for bloggers in 2024:
Still relatively new and therefore experimental, the Workspaces module allows you to prepare content and keep it in various stages of publication.
A typical use case is a news site reporting on a sporting event where the winner is not known in advance. With the Workspaces module, you can create two versions of the outcome and later, after the event, publish the desired version with a click.
A workspace is a copy of a live site where you can safely test content and configurations before deploying them live at any time.
This module shows you how well your content is optimized for your target keyword. As the name suggests, it displays in real-time how often and densely the keyword appears in your text, whether your alt text is sufficient for your image, how well your text's internal linking is built, and much more.
The Metatag module allows you to manage all the meta tags of your site. For example, you can freely formulate the important description meta tag. You also have the option to generate meta tags automatically based on previously defined patterns. For instance, you can automatically use the summary text of your post as the description meta tag.
If you are looking for a GDPR-compliant alternative to Google Analytics, try Plausible. Plausible is an analytics software that operates completely without cookies. It is also open source, and you can easily install and run it on your own web hosting. This gives you full control over the collected data.
With the Plausible Drupal module, you can easily integrate your own Plausible instance into your Drupal site.
This module is one of the oldest and most widely used Drupal modules. Pathauto automatically creates a user-friendly URL after saving a post. You can freely define the pattern used to generate the URLs.
